Ismo Kiuru kaata viimeisen kerran oman lehmän maitoa mukii. Nyt Ismo Kiurulla on edessään uusi elämä. Tulevaisuuteen hän katsoo hieman nieleskellen. Töiden etsiminen ei ole tuottanut oikein tulosta.

Viime vuonna Luonnonvarakeskus Luke laski, että 1 100 lypsykarjatilaa lopettaa maidontuotannon vuoteen 2020 mennessä. Se tarkoittaa, että yli 16 prosenttia lypsykarjatiloista on ajamassa tuotantoansa alas kahden vuoden aikana.

Esimerkiksi pelkästään Kaakkois-Suomessa oli 20 vuotta sitten yli 1 600 maitotilaa, nyt niitä on reilusti alle 300.
